How to become a digital marketing apprentice in England

Digital Marketing is taking the world by storm; It’s one of the fastest-growing industries in our society. To the uninitiated, it might be easy to think that digital marketing is all about managing social media accounts, but it goes further than that.

The role of a digital marketer is nuanced, requires a lot of patience and skill, and the ability to adapt and overcome obstacles.

The responsibilities of a digital marketer include, but aren’t limited to:

  • Search Engine Optimisation - manipulating online content so that it is more favoured by search engines and appears higher in search results
  • Content marketing - Creating and marketing online content such as blogs, social media posts and emails
  • Email marketing - Sending promotional content to a database of clients.
  • Website Management - Using content management systems or website backend to manage website content and update it with new material.
  • Market research - performing study into market tactics, competitor analysis and new algorithms etc in order to devise better marketing strategies.

The fact that these responsibilities are only a smaller part of the bigger picture is one thing; the fact they require such nuance and expertise is another. This is why digital marketing roles pay high, but entering the industry is another story.
